What is SMSPAY ?

We are a payment facilitator helping businesses collect payments from their customers in a secure and safe environment. Typically this is businesses in the real world with customers face-to-face or over the phone.


I can see SMSPAY on my statement but I don’t recognise the transaction. How can I find out?

The business name or ID will show in the payment descriptor. If this is not of any value you can contact our support team and we will let you know. Alternatively you can reach out to your bank and they will be able to advise.


I received a SMS asking for payment but I didn’t purchase anything. What should I do?

If this is a one-off you can safely discard the message. It may be that your mobile number has been entered by mistake. If this is a regular occurrence you can contact us and we can block further messages to your number.


How can I get a refund?

We would first ask you to contact the business directly and try to come to an amicable agreement. If a refund is the valid option then the business can action the refund through their SMSPAY account. If you have a disagreement with the business you may contact us so that we can help resolve.


I would like to use SMSPAY for my business, how can I do so?

We are currently developing an API. If you are interested in beta testing you are welcome to apply for an account.
